Escuela Verde is governed by the TransCenter board of directors, which has ultimate responsibility for the success of the school and is accountable directly to the City of Milwaukee
and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). EV is set up as a teacher collective that makes decisions together on a consensus basis. They are chartered through the City of Milwaukee.

About the Learning Program

Escuela Verde learners develop, research, work, and produce their own projects. Projects that
mean something. Projects that prove growth. Projects that matter to them and to our community.

Working in small advisories of 16 students, Escuela Verde students collaborate with their educational advisors to define and meet their own vision of success. Students co-develop a Personalized Learning
Plan (PLP) with their educational advisor.

Escuela Verde follows the EdVisions Project-Based Learning model. The school is designed
to serve students interested in sustainability, student-led learning, and restorative justice.
