Our Approach to Coaching

Seeing the Power in Co-Design and Co-Ownership

Our coaching is built on a simple idea: when educators share real responsibility and have a role in decision-making, schools—and the educators and students within them—thrive. When change is co-designed, co-created, and co-owned, improvement can be deep and lasting.

Three Pillars

Coaching Leaders

We coach district, school, and classroom leaders to expand educator voice,
agency, and shared leadership—empowering and aligning change at all levels.\

Redesigning Systems

From staffing to schedules, we partner with teams to collaboratively redesign
structures, practices, and routines that work better for students and adults.

Transforming Learning

Ultimately, we support educators in building capacity to design and use
student-centered teaching practices that are rigorous, relevant, and culturally affirming.

Stages of a Long-Term Partnership

How Deeper Engagements Unfold

Exploration

Focus

Growing shared understanding of the model, assessing challenges, and building collective ownership for what comes next.

Outputs

Team understanding of the teacher-powered model and a shared commitment to move forward.

Typically 3 months

Design

Focus

Defining shared purpose and values, setting group norms, and identifying the specific model elements the team will focus on.

Outputs

New job descriptions, hybrid leadership positions, org charts, capacity building for new roles.

Typically 9–12 months

Implementation

Focus

Setting goals, executing the plan from phase 2, and continual reflection on data — staff surveys, academic outcomes, and more.

Outputs

Plans implemented, results data, reflection records, and updated action plans.

Typically 12 months

Continuous improvement

Focus

Building the team's own capacity for shorter improvement cycles — so they can own and continue what they've built.

Outputs

Refined roles, updated org structures, results data, and future action plans to carry forward independently.

Typically 12 months
