Lead teachers refer to classroom teachers who lead committees, grade level teams, or subject teams. At teacher-powered schools, lead teacher refers to a classroom teacher who also have administrative duties and often split their time between the classroom and administrative tasks. It is common for teacher-powered teams to have two or more co-lead teachers who share the responsibilities normally given to a principal.
